Thanks to a sizeable grants from towards the project from the WW100 Fund of the Lottery Grants Board
and Pub Charity, work has commenced on initial conservation and stabilisation of the ARMY 8 by our conservators, Manawatu Museum Services.

We will add pictures and comments to the site as we proceed.

Who are we?
This project has been set up by the Whanganui River Institute and the Union Boat Club to preserve the unique rowing heritage of the Whanganui River.

What we do
The Centre will, in the first instance, be a virtual museum, with the first physical project being the conservation and exhibition of the 1919 'Army 8' Skiff as part of the WW1 celebrations in Wanganui.
